Independent educators served as the Selection Committee to review and select the scholarship awardees from the applicant pool. The 2023 scholarship recipients competed against applicants from BlueScope locations across North America for one of two Foundation scholarship programs.

  • The Foundation’s Centennial Scholarship Program is a two-year scholarship for students seeking an associate degree or vocational/technical certificate at a community college or vocational-technical school. This scholarship program is open to new or returning college students. The $1,000 annual award is renewable and can total up to $2,000. Centennial scholarship recipients who transfer to a four-year university have the potential to extend this award up to $8,000.
  • The Baccalaureate Scholarship Program is a four-year scholarship designed for students seeking a baccalaureate degree at a four-year college or university. This scholarship program is open to students who graduated from high school in the spring of 2023. The amount awarded for this renewable scholarship is $3,000 annually, with a total award potential of $12,000.

Scholarships such as those offered by the BlueScope Foundation help to make higher education more affordable and obtainable for hundreds of BlueScope Buildings’ hard-working families. In offering the annual scholarship opportunities, BlueScope Buildings North America extends its culture of caring to the communities in which it operates and to the next generation. Applications for the 2024 Foundation Scholarship Program will be available for BlueScope families in October 2023.
